Duck Duck Moose Wins Three 2011 Parents’ Choice Awards for Mobile Apps

PALO ALTO (April 22, 2011) – Independent children’s app developer Duck Duck Moose wins three 2011 Parents’ Choice Awards for their mobile apps. Fish School won a Parents’ Choice Gold Award, Park Math won a Parents’ Choice Silver Award, and Baa Baa Black Sheep won a Parents’ Choice Recommended Award. Having won three Parents’ Choice Gold Awards in 2010, Duck Duck Moose is the only publisher that has received six Parents’ Choice Awards in the Mobile Apps category.

“Duck Duck Moose presents another great app for the toddler set with Fish School. The ocean is the setting in this pre-school game that teaches letters, numbers, shapes, colors and matching. True to all Duck Duck Moose apps, the animation and production quality are excellent and adorable for young users,” writes Parents’ Choice Foundation.

“Park Math is a nice collection of math games for the preschool set. There’s an addition game where you add ducks at the top of the slide, and a subtraction game where you take apples off a tree. Both of these games are nice because they truly illustrate the concepts of addition and subtraction. To practice counting, you can feed food to a hippo. My favorite game of the bunch is the dog sorting game. To play, you slide dogs around on a bench so they go from smallest to largest or so they follow the order of the numbers on their shirts,” writes Parents’ Choice Foundation.

The Parents’ Choice Awards program is the nation’s oldest nonprofit program created to recognize quality children’s media. The Parents’ Choice Awards program honors the best material for children. The Parents’ Choice Awards committees look for products that entertain and teach with flair, stimulate imagination and inspire creativity. Judges are interested in how a product helps a child grow: socially, intellectually, emotionally, ethically, and physically.
